Brad Gannon: Pedder’s amazing story offers so much to our automotive community. Tell us a little bit about Pedders and what it does.

Mark Pedders: 75 years for us next year. So, we've got a birthday as well next year. But started by my grandfather, Roy, back in 1950 as a welding business reconditioning old shock absorbers. We’re the third generation, still a family-owned business specialising in suspension and brakes and not just domestic anymore. We've gone global. So, yeah, no it's a great story and still run by the family.

Brad: It is an amazing story. Capricorn and Pedders have had an amazing history and certainly helped each other over that journey.

Mark: Capricorn for us has been a part of, you know, the Pedders DNA for a long, long time. Well, my first recollection of Capricorn was when I was working as a mechanic. I started off in our store out at Footscray as a technician. Not a very good one, mind you. And then I went from there and I was actually a sales rep so, you know, when I was repping, I was spending a lot of time with the Capricorn reps and it actually taught me a lot.

Basically Capricorn is our number one access to market. Your ability to get to great customers like your Members, you know, are really good customers and they're great workshops and they do all the things that, you know, as a we try and get our Pedders franchises to do as well. Our stores have respect for your Members because they've made that jump to Capricorn because of what you stand for. 

Brad: Pedders continues to grow. It's an amazing story. Almost celebrating 75 years. What do you put down its growth and success to?

Mark: It always comes down to people. We just had some fantastic people throughout the journey. It's as simple as that.
