Capricorn is on the lookout for the next Rising Stars Winners!
Capricorn Rising Stars are apprentices who go above and beyond, have a great attitude and show initiative in the workshop.
Not only they will get a chance to gain industry recognition, it will also put them in the running to win a share of more than $30,000 worth of prizes*.
For the first time ever, Capricorn will be awarding Rising Stars Region Winners as well as an Overall Winner so there’s more chances of winning than ever before.

Apprentice Applications

Apprentices complete their application by answering questions to officially enter the competition.
Shortlisted Nominees
June 2025
Shortlisted apprentices are contacted with follow up questions for the final stage of the competition.
Winners Announcement
September – October 2025
Announcement of the six Region Winners and the Overall Winner.

Who can nominate an apprentice for the 2025 Capricorn Rising Stars Apprentice of the Year Award?
- A Capricorn Member workshop owner, manager or supervisor can nominate their apprentice.

Are nominations only open to Capricorn Members?
- Yes, only Capricorn Members can nominate apprentices for the 2025 Capricorn Rising Stars Apprentice of the Year Award. The competition is open to all types of workshops and disciplines from panel and fabrication to auto-electrical, general mechanical, heavy diesel and others.

Who is eligible for nomination for the Rising Stars award?
- Any apprentice employed as an apprentice at the time of nomination by the nominating workshop and be currently undertaking tuition from a recognised automotive training institution is eligible.

Can an apprentice who was nominated previously be nominated again?
- Yes, of course. We encourage all Members to renominate former candidates to show appreciation and recognition. The only requirement is that they are still an apprentice at the time of nomination.

What is the maximum number of apprentices that a Member can nominate for the award?
- There is no limit. As many apprentices as the workshop has that they’d like to nominate for the award.

Can any of the prizes be exchanged for cash or can prizes be transferred to another person?
- Prizes are not transferrable for cash and prizes cannot be transferred to other individuals.

When will the winners be announced?
- The Overall Winner will be announced by Capricorn in October with all Region Winners announced in September.

How will the apprentice and workshop be advised if they won, made the final list or been shortlisted?
- Winners will be contacted by Capricorn via phone and/or email prior to the public announcements. Shortlisted candidates will also be contacted via phone and/or email to arrange the completion of a second round of questions as part of the application process.
